Top Prospects on the Wolverine Hot List Five-Star DT Jordan Elliot Jordan Elliot DT (Houston, TX) - Although he is currently committed to Houston, Elliot appears to still have some interest in Michigan. He said he plans to visit in the fall on an official so anything could happen. The kid is a beast and is every bit as good of a prospect as Rashan Gary, if not better. If Harbaugh can get him to flip it would be a huge win in a raging recruiting battle that also includes Texas and USC as major players for his services. The Wolverines are not desperate for tackles right now, but it would be nice to score on a big one when given the chance. Besides, Elliot could play end on the strong-side if needed too. 2016 Recruiting: The Early Lead

The Committed: OT Erik Swenson (6'7" 290 lbs) Grade: 83 - Swenson is a nice get to start off the 2016 recruiting cycle. His size alone warrants a look from every big-time program in the country. He already had offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Illinois, and Northwestern as well. QB Messiah DeWeaver (6'3" 200 lbs) Grade: 81 - Thus far an underrated recruit that is proving himself in the summer camp circuit this year. Had lots of interest from other teams already and probably will still receive more offers in the next year, but it sounds like this is a dream come true for him. Seems to have all the tools the coaches are looking for in a passer. He was recruited by Offensive Coordinator Doug Nussmeier.  Interested Prospects with Offers:  OL Richard Merritt (6'5" 345 lbs) Grade: 89 TE Isaac Nauta (6'5" 240 lbs) Grade: 88 WR Dylan Crawford (6'1" 175 lbs) Grade: 88 S Brandon Jones (5'11" 185 lbs) Grade: 88 OL Ben Bredeson (...

All the sports sites have been ablaze over the last couple months in regards to which schools got which prospect to commit and where prospects are making official visits. It goes without saying that there is a lot of hype involved for athletes that have never even stepped onto a college practice field. So what does it all mean? More importantly, what does it all mean for our beloved Wolverines in 2014? Well, to say it doesn't mean much would be a huge understatement as a team is ultimately only as good as the talent they can bring in and develop. How quickly one kid or another develops and what type of player they will develop into is something we cannot predict. As a fan, one just hopes that most of the kids their beloved school brings in on any given year become players that can contribute to wins on Saturdays. This year's crop of in-coming talen...
