Most Important Players for Michigan in 2019 (by position)

In case you missed it, I put my annual roster rankings for the 2019 season . QB - Shea Patterson - Well, this is a no-brainer. Patterson, the returning starter, was one of the top-rated passers in the nation last year. He was also the most productive quarterbacks the team has had since Denard Robinson, but with a better winning percentage. Nothing more needs to be said. In regards to the backups, getting Dylan McCaffrey back is huge. He should be the top guy off the bench as he was before he broke his collarbone against Wisconsin. Overall, this position group is in great shape for the foreseeable future. RB - Zach Charbonnet - Charbonnet is being counted on by Harbaugh and company to come help carry the load immediately as a freshman. And with his measurables and relative success at a high level of high school football, it is easy to put such lofty hopes on the kid. He is a borderline 5-Star prospect, so it would be a blessing if he showed up and filled the empty spot left by Kara

Time for March Madness! - Could It Be MICHIGAN MADNESS?!

Yes, I know, I know - I haven't spoken a word about the fabulously exciting season the Men's basketball team is putting on the court. It's not that I haven't been paying attention. My time is just limited these days. I've only watched maybe 3 quarters of actual game on TV. I've listened to a few on the radio and have seen the highlights whilst perusing the stat sheet. Basketball is not rocket science. It is easy to keep track of how things are progressing and where their respective strengths and weaknesses fall, but it is a long season. And I am just now getting over a wicked football hangover that had left a bad taste in my mouth. Luckily, enough positive recruiting and coaching (yes, I believe all the current moves are very positive for Harbaugh's team going forward) news from the football program along with the relative success the basketball team is having, has been enough to awaken me from a the winter slumber I have been in since the new year. It is

Leaders and Best, 2019 - Raising the Bar

As most fans are aware, the 2019 Michigan Wolverines football team will be an experienced one despite the early NFL defections,  It might also be one of the most talented teams the program has had in the last 30 years. There are several highly-touted players returning on both sides of the ball and dozens of younger players who were highly-rated prospects looking to get some playing time of their own. I can't remember this much talent at some key positions in my lifetime. And though we know who will most-likely be starting at quarterback, offensive line, and wide receiver, the competition at most of the other positions should be fierce. Let's get to it... Roster Breakdown: 13 fulltime starters returning (8 offense/5 defense) 12 others returning with starting experience (4 offense/8 defense) All top four kicking specialists are also returning (2 kickers/2 punters) with loads of experience and postseason accolades to boot. Possibly one of the best two-deep group of kicker

Five (or six) Reasons to Not Be Worried About Chris Evans' Absence 'At This Time'

As has been reported by numerous outlets including Chris Evans himself on Twitter, the top returning running back for 2019 is not with the program 'at this time'. That leaves a glaring hole at the top of the depth chart for the position. Should we as fans be a little worried? Many will respond with a resounding 'Yes!'. I, on the other hand, will gladly tell you to not get your panties in a bunch. Just pick out that wedgie and move on. Of course, I am not like many fans. I am eternally optimistic when it comes to the Jim Harbaugh run Michigan Football Program. And to be honest, I just don't care what detractors might think. Many of them are just trolls looking to ruin a rival fan's day. It's petty and stupid. It's childish. And for god's sake I hope most of you out there have something better to do with your time than worry about one kid's academic issues and how that might effect your water cooler trash talk at work next fall. So, without
