As the 2014 season gets set to unfold I've got a slew of bold statements, biased outlooks, and straight-up facts that should help in getting any Wolverine fan excited. Yes, I do believe it pays to be positive, even if I've been proven wrong more times than not as of late. This year will be different, mark my words! Anyway, here are some things to think about as the season approaches: Facts: 80% of the roster last season was made up of first and second year players who will now be true sophomores, true juniors, and redshirt freshmen. At least 18 freshmen got significant playing time in 2013, with several collecting a few starts and three making the conference's All-Freshman Team (Kalis, Butt, and Henry). There are more four and five-star former recruits on the roster now than there has been since 2007. Jim Harbaugh has apparently pulled his name from the table and a few names have surfaced as potential candidates that might surprise many fans. Of course, it is all speculation at this point as the Wolverine suits are doing their due diligence to find the right guy. Here is an updated short list of hot potential candidates: The Steal: Gary Pinkel (Missouri Tigers Head Coach) - There are some unsubstantiated rumors going around that Pinkel is actually the top candidate for the job. It would be a steal out of the SEC as Pinkel has led his Tigers to two consecutive SEC East Division titles. His recruiting capabilities in the south would go a long way towards bringing more great talent up north. The Fan: Sean Payton (New Orleans Saints Head Coach) - If Payton is as big of a fan of UM athletics as he is rumored to be, he might be the hottest name on the list overall. Top Wolverine Pro Prospects

2016 Willie Henry DT 6'3"/311lbs - Henry was one of my favorite Wolverines over the last three seasons. He can battle it out in the trenches and come up with big plays. He has had issues with injuries and probably made a good choice to come out early. Risking another injury could damage his stock, and after the season the Wolverine's had it is reasonable to think that it can't get too much higher. He has shown good production over the years but is just now turning 21, so there is a chance he is still has some room to grow as a player. He could go as high as round two, but with the quality of mid-round talent and overall depth at the position he could possibly slip all the way down to the fifth or sixth.
